The Garden of Letters by Alyson Richman

Rating: 2.8

This is about a girl who is an Italian cello player who joins the resistance movement during WWII.  I enjoyed the first portion of the book but then it incorporated a lot of romance and it felt like typical chick lit.  It is too bad as it had potential.

  1. Try reading "The Lost Wife" by the same author, it's a great book. Also, given what you are dealing with regarding Ozzy and his age you would love "The Art of Racing in the Rain"

    1. Thanks Maria. I will check out The Lost Wife. I tried The Art of Racing in the Rain but, that was right after we had lost Zackie so I think my emotions were still too raw. I may have to revisit it. Thank you :-)

    2. Oh I am sorry! Didn't want to remind you of a sad event. I have a chihuhua that has been with me 7 yrs and after reading that book I realized what a blessing she is.

    3. I will try it again. I was just too raw back then but maybe now I will find it sweet. It could be the perfect book for sitting on the beach in Maui so, thanks for that suggestion.
